NeTIX is a Bulgarian structure which is developing a Eastern Europe network and enables its customers and members to join many IXPs in Europe. With points of presence in Sofia, Bucharest, Warsaw, Prague, Istanbul, Belgrade, Frankfurt, Paris, Amsterdam, and London, NeTiX carries more than 50 operators networks in all these cities.

By interconnecting with LyonIX, NeTiX also has access to IXP in Rhône-Alpes: GrenoblIX, ADN-IX, SaintetIX. Thus, on both sides, this is a collection of more than 150 networks that can exchange free traffic, and that under peering agreements through the Route Servers. Connectivity between the Eastern Europe and the LyonIX IXPs will be greatly improved.

Public Service Delegation contract (PSD) Pays Voironnais Network (PVN) interconnected to the Lyon Internet exchange point, to the LyonIX 2 POP. The Pays Voironnais PSD proposes offers on optical fiber and DSL on the Voiron (Isère) region. It does not sell directly to the companies because it is an operator of operator. All the offers are thus presented by telephone companies or Internet.

Until today, not many operators had taken the step, to traffic services on PVN because it was necessary to them to join physically the network of PVN since Grenoble or Lyon causing significant costs, especially for the first customers.

From now Pays Voironnais Network allows all operators who want to provide services on the Voiron region to make it directly since LyonIX, with the same charges as if they were physically in Voiron, this local offer always remains valid.

So, PVN neutralises a relative isolation of Voiron in term of Telecom and allows to accelerate the offers and flow rates development, with a reduction in the prices expected for the end users (companies, public bodies).

The interconnexion advantages

For Alain Sommerlatt, person in charge of PVN, " it is a new start for Voiron economic zone because LyonIX assembles the majority of Telecom actors of the Rhône-Alpes region, and it will now be simpler and faster to them to join our network of Voiron fiber, without any additional cost. "

Samuel Triolet, Rezopole director adds: "we can thus expect this DSP revitalisation which already has a fine network, passing as closely as possible to the regional companies. Thanks to the providers Telecom and Internet concentration on LyoIX and GrenoblIX IXP, the DSP projects, as PVN, can propose more offers, more quickly, with better rate flows, and the end users will only take advantage of it."

Openwide est le premier membre qui passe en attachement double port sur LyonIX. Depuis 10 ans, OpenWide (anciennement Accelance) est connecté sur LyonIX. En tant qu'hébergeur et infogérant de plateformes web (-ecommerce, sites publics), la connexion sur LyonIX est devenue critique pour OpenWide car plus de 30 % du trafic est fait en peering sur le noeud d'échange lyonnais.

Aussi, il est bon d'être certain que le peering s'écoule toujours sur le GIX. Mais OpenWide utilise également la connexion sur LyonIX pour acheter et vendre des services. Mélanger le peering et
l'achat/vente n'est pas toujours évident techniquement.

Aussi, depuis Avril 2014, la connexion vers LyonIX a été doublée.

L'évolution de LyonIX

LyonIX est en effet un IXP (Internet eXchange Point pour le peering) mais également un NAP (Network Access Point, pour les échanges commerciaux). Étant donnée l'augmentation actuellement des volumes de trafic et la criticité croissante des échanges entre les membres, il devient important pour LyonIX de garantir un fonctionnement sans perturbation pour les deux types de trafics. La solution la plus simple est de les isoler chacun l'un de l'autre.

La Place De Marché LyonIX est un service dédié aux membres (et futurs membres) de LyonIX. Il s'agit d'une plateforme web sécurisée permettant de faire se rencontrer l'offre et la demande sur LyonIX.

Plus qu'un site informatif, la Place De Marché LyonIX est un outil qui permet aux membres demandeurs de connaître parfaitement les offres (technique et prix). Après l'envoi d'une demande les opérateurs offreurs pourront renseigner les structures demandeuses sur leurs offres et faire une proposition commerciale adéquate dans un délai de 5 jours.

Grâce aux différentes propositions commerciales, les membres demandeurs ont l'opportunité de faire un choix informé en étant certains d'avoir les moyens Télécom et Réseau nécessaires au bon fonctionnement de leur activité.

The IXP Toolkit Portal (web site) provides resources, data, maps and statistics for the IXP community. The site has also an agenda with international internet events and a blog with industry news.

The IXP Toolkit Report (http://www.internetsociety.org/ixptoolkitguide) is a resource for new IXPs and developing IXPs.  The Internet Society is asking for "feedback" on the Report and Portal.  Please send any updates or improvements on the IXP Toolkit Report to This email address is being protected from spambots. Rezopole's contribution

LyonIX has provided its toolbox on the portal and will also updates all its African IXP development and support training dates that the team runs as a partner for the AXIS project.

Dans le cadre de l'initiative French Tech lancée par la ministre Fleur Pellerin, Grenoble-Alpes Métropole  en association avec le Pays du Grésivaudan, a mis en place une équipe pilotée par Jean-Pierre Verjus afin de déposer sa candidature au label numérique. Le cabinet de conseil Alcimed contribuera également à cette candidature.

Dans cette optique, différents groupes de travail ont été créés :

• programmes accélérateurs de croissance, ce groupe en charge de ce travail, est animé par André Meyer, Eric Pierrel et Daniel Pilaud.
• visibilité et l'attractivité du site dont l'animation a été confiée à Laurent Ponthieu et Philippe Wieczorek.
• cartographie de nos forces dans le domaine numérique, l'animation a été confiée à Brigitte Plateau et Nicolas Berroud, en partenariat avec la société TKM
• communication, groupe piloté par Renaud Cornu-Emieux avec l'appui d'Alcimed et de notre community manager Régis Gautheron.
