Telehouse opens a PoP in Marseille with Jaguar Network

Telehouse opens a PoP in Marseille with Jaguar Network

Telehouse, a specialist in high connectivity hosting solutions in Europe, has signed a partnership with the operator Jaguar Network, a B2B subsidiary of the iliad Group, for the development of hosting activities in France in the latter's datacenter in Marseille.

Named "TH1 Marseille", this infrastructure will provide new neutral connectivity solutions to digital players, with the same know-how, the same proximity in support and the same excellence in service that have characterised Telehouse's activity for 30 years.

This agreement echoes the growth of Jaguar Network, of which Telehouse has been one of the historical partners by hosting it in its TH2 Paris datacenter. In return, Jaguar Network is now offering Telehouse a new opportunity to develop its offer on its historic campus in Marseille.

Their common ambition is to contribute to making the city one of the top 5 most connected cities in the world, and to reinforce the Paris / Marseille digital highway, in order to place France at the centre of international data exchanges. Marseille's dynamism is based on its submarine cable network linking Asia/Pacific to Europe with a Marseille/Frankfurt/Amsterdam axis.

In 2023, capacity will increase from 150 terabits to 720 terabits thanks to the 8,000 km Google Blue Raman cable (India, Saudi Arabia and Marseille, avoiding Egypt).

Thanks to Telehouse's historical know-how and Jaguar Network's local presence, customers will be able to benefit from all existing or future fibres.

Free challenges Orange with an offer for professionals

Free challenges Orange with an offer for professionals

On March 23th, Free announced its commercial offers for businesses: Free Pro. This offer is aimed at very small businesses, SMEs, but also local authorities and individual entrepreneurs who do not have the resources to buy services from competitors.

Free Pro will provide professionals with a 100% fiber-optic 10 EPON Freebox, featuring tri-band WiFi combined with a repeater. In order to guarantee an Internet connection even in the event of a power cut, this box has an external 4G modem and is based on both Free's fiber network and that of Jaguar Network. It also has a NAS function that allows you to save up to 200 GB of data in the cloud, WiFi 5 and standard WPA3 protection.

Free hopes to make a difference thanks to the supposed reliability of its hardware: the box is equipped with a dedicated OS that is capable of self-diagnosis thanks to AI. The operator also pledges to provide online assistance within eight hours with dedicated support based in France. The offer includes two fixed lines, with unlimited calls to mobiles in France and in more than 100 destinations around the world, as well as an unlimited 4G/5G mobile package.

The operator is also taking the opportunity to launch a mobile offer for professionals, which is not really different from its general public offer. For €19.99/month, you get 150 GB of 4G/5G data, 25 GB of roaming from more than 70 destinations and unlimited calls to mobiles and landlines to more than 100 international destinations. The subtlety is its customer service dedicated to professionals, accessible 7 days a week from 7am to 8pm, with a commitment to obtain a response within eight hours.

Jaguar Network launches the construction of a 3ᵉ DC in Lyon

on Friday, 06 November 2020 Posted in Archives Rezopole

Jaguar Network launches the construction of a 3ᵉ DC in Lyon

After acquiring DCforData and its datacenter in Limonest in 2018, Jaguar Network inaugurated its second datacenter called "Rock" a year later in the 8ᵉ district of Lyon. The operator and host, a B2B subsidiary of the Iliad Group, is today launching the construction of a third site.

This new facility will meet the exponential demand for data hosting in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, and thus preserve this sovereignty in the immediate vicinity. The aim is to immediately offer new, complementary services for pioneering sectors such as Industry 4.0 and e-Health.

The hosting architectures now spread over three active sites will make it possible to address requests from all over the Lyon metropolitan area and its region, while guaranteeing the diversification and security of the power supply.

Interconnected with leading international operators as well as national and regional operators, this new very high-speed communication node will support new uses and the city's transformation by optimizing connectivity.

Specializing in smartcity and the challenges of AI and big data, this new datacenter will be designed to create new partnerships with the ecosystem and open up new opportunities for a rapidly changing employment pool.

An announcement confirming the Iliad Group's investment in fiber optics as it aims to connect 100% of the companies in the AuRA region by 2024.

For Jaguar Network, this is the affirmation of its installation in France's second-largest economic region in connection with its historical market of SMEs, ETIs and large accounts. This prefigures the forthcoming arrival of the Iliad Group in the corporate market.

Iliad takes control of Jaguar Network

on Thursday, 24 January 2019 Posted in Archives Rezopole, Archives GrenoblIX, Archives LyonIX

Iliad takes control of Jaguar Network

Announced on January 18th by Free's parent company, the acquisition of 75% of the capital of the French company Jaguar Network will enable the operator to strengthen its offers on the B2B market. These shares, previously held by the Naxicap investment fund, were sold for just under €100 million.

"This transaction is an important step for Iliad in its development strategy to address the corporate market by leveraging the very strong expertise and complementarities between the two groups and by partnering with a recognized entrepreneur," said Free's management after the acquisition.

This takeover should enable Iliad to develop its national network of data centers in order to increase its capacity to provide technical support to companies. However, this operation should not change the organization chart of the operator and host Cloud Jaguar Network since the company remains managed by its founder, Kevin Polizzi, who remains a shareholder with 25% of the capital.

The largest datacenter in Lyon

on Thursday, 24 January 2019 Posted in Archives Rezopole, Archives GrenoblIX, Archives LyonIX

The largest datacenter in Lyon

Inaugurated on January 15 by the national operator Jaguar Network, the last datacenter of the Lyon metropolitan area was built within the Biopark of the 8th arrondissement. Known as "Rock", this datacenter is also the largest in Lyon with more than 4,000 m² and 800 computer bays.
This project, supported by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, now hosts IT projects in the health and industry 4.0 sectors after only twelve months of construction.

However, the building has a particular feature for a datacenter: "The aesthetics of the building has been a constraint imposed by the French building architects: Rock is located within the perimeter of the Édouard Herriot Hospital, built a century ago by the architect Tony Garnier and listed as a historic monument. Thus, to comply with the specifications imposed by the French administration, it was mandatory to equip the building with windows, walled by breeze blocks since they were totally useless for computer rooms...!" notes Pierre Col in an article in ZDNet.

The operation of the infrastructures of this new datacenter has been maximized by using, for example, artificial intelligence. "An application developed by Jaguar Network teams proactively manages the installations in order to perform preventive maintenance to maximize availability. This is how technologies based on Big Data and Machine Learning are integrated into the spectrum boxes whose mission is to predictively detect any incident," says Jaguar Network.
In addition, a team is permanently present on the site "This guarantees local support to customers for the simplified operation of their IT equipment. A technician can work on any server hosted in the heart of the building in less than 10 minutes," explains the operator and cloud host.

To demonstrate its commitment to investing in digital transformation, the company has also created a network of more than 80 km of dark fibre network. This allows any company in Lyon's metropolitan area to be connected directly by dedicated and secure cables. "A dedicated 100 Gbps network will be available from February 2019 to provide the highest connection speeds available in France for businesses," says Jaguar Network.
