100 Gbs entre l'IN2P3 et le CERN

More than 1 petaoctet data exchanged each day between CERN and CNRS's CC-IN2P3  to an average speed of 95 Gbit/s, simultaneously in 2 ways !

RENATER and the American constructor Ciena successfully tested the evolution of the network infrastructure to 100 Gbs, in december 2010.

These experiments have an interest for both operators and grid computing projects in high energy physics. Furthermore, given the volumes of data currently exchanged and steadily, these network technologies will be needed in the relatively short term.

Centre IN2P3 computing hosts Lyonix 1, the first Internet exchange point in the Rhône-Alpes Region managed by Rezopole.
