France-IX Lyon, in partnership with Wild Code School, invites you to the 15ᵉ RezoGirls meeting on Tuesday 07 December at 6:30pm. The theme of this edition: "Digital inclusion: the new societal challenge to be met".

Knowing how to use common digital resources (Internet, word processing...) has become almost as essential as knowing how to read, write and count. Not having access to the Internet or not knowing how to use digital tools is therefore a real handicap.

Today, 17% of the French population is illiterate, even though 77% have a smartphone and 76% a computer. There are many factors of inequality. Major divides persist between the inhabitants of our country, depending on the territory, the level of qualifications and income, age of course, or personal situation.

The consequences of digital exclusion are both personal and professional, with the impossibility of accessing one's rights, finding a job, housing, or just keeping in touch with loved ones... How can we make the digital world more inclusive? Our speakers will debate the subject based on their respective experiences and will provide a relevant analysis of this phenomenon.

In order to welcome you in the best sanitary conditions, the France-IX Lyon & Wild Code School teams keep themselves informed of the measures and recommendations of the public authorities.

In order to access the event, participants will have to present one of the three following proofs constituting the "health pass":

• Vaccination certification (complete scheme)
• PCR / antigenic test less than 24 hours old
• Positive RT-PCR or antigenic test attesting to the recovery of the Covid-19 dating back at least 15 days and less than 6 months

NB: Self-tests are not accepted.

 

Speakers

 

Margo Chaillou, UX designer, has been involved for several years with disability, inclusion, gender and professional life, notably within La Cuisine Du Web. She quickly specialised in digital accessibility to meet the specific needs of all users.

Today she manages Improved Impact, the first audit and recommendation platform for the social (digital accessibility) and environmental (eco-design) impact of websites.

 

 

Cassandre Schach fell into the pot of commitment during a civic service in Paris, and pursued this fulfilment in the ecological struggle, then in the fight against discrimination.

For the past two years, she has been working for Emmaus Connect in Lyon, facilitating the digital inclusion of the people of Lyon by setting up equipment, connection and digital skills support initiatives, in partnership with more than 120 organisations in the city.

France-IX Lyon, en partenariat avec LDIGITAL, vous convie le mardi 19 octobre à 18h30 à la 14ᵉ rencontre RezoGirls. Une nouvelle table ronde avec pour thématique « Les femmes : garantes du numérique responsable ? ».

Le numérique responsable est une démarche d’amélioration continue qui vise à réduire les empreintes écologique, économique et sociale des technologies de l’information et de la communication (TIC). En somme, il s’agit de continuer d’utiliser les technologies pour développer son activité, mais tout en mettant en place des solutions au quotidien pour réduire son impact environnemental.

Pour qu’il soit plus responsable, le numérique doit donc réduire son impact sur l’environnement mais pas seulement ! Le numérique responsable implique donc d’examiner l’ensemble des pratiques aussi bien au niveau des usages qu’au niveau sociétal.

Comment fait-on pour rendre le numérique responsable plus éthique et inclusif ? Nos trois intervenant·e·s débattront sur le sujet en se basant sur leur expérience respective et apporteront une analyse pertinente de ce phénomène.

Intervenant.e.s

Aurélie Fallourd a passé quatre ans comme pilote QSE pour plusieurs clients au sein de la SADE puis rejoint SERFIM T.I.C. en 2012 en tant que Responsable d’affaires.

Elle est promue Responsable QSE-RSE en 2014 et intègre le Codir de l’entreprise. Après une formation en Management & Leadership, ses missions s’élargissent jusqu’à prendre en charge le Système de Management Intégré de SERFIM T.I.C., et devenir référente pour le groupe SERFIM de la commission sur la responsabilité sociétale des entreprises et la mixité professionnelle.

 

 

Issu de différents horizons, Frédéric Lacrabere s’appuie sur des années d’écologie dans différentes associations et des études en éthique et en développement durable. Il a découvert le monde de l’éco-conception web il y a quelque temps lors d’une formation de développeur web.

Frédéric a intégré Open Cylife en s’occupant de la création des contenus éco-conçus et de recherche sur les impacts du numérique pour les partager avec la communauté. Aujourd’hui, il est formateur dans le numérique responsable.

The impact of digital technology on the environment would account for 1% of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions - 2% in France. In order to curb this trend, the Secretary of State for the Digital Economy, Cédric O, and the Minister for Ecological Transition, Barbara Pompili, launched a roadmap on 8 October to tackle this issue.

The first axis consists of "objectifying the digital footprint", that is to say, making something intangible visible and therefore quantifying it exactly and improving the quantification methodology. Ademe (Agency for Ecological Transition) and Arcep will report their conclusions on how to inform consumers about the impact of their digital uses at the end of 2021.

The second priority is to extend the life of devices by encouraging their repair and re-use and by combating programmed obsolescence. Thus, all operators will be required to massify and systematise collection in their shops and to conduct awareness campaigns.

In addition, the recovery plan plans to devote 21 million euros to support the reuse and repair sector in France. The government will also conduct negotiations at the European level to reduce VAT on repackaged products.

However, there is no question of forcibly restricting French customs. The watchword is to incite the population to change its practices by showing pedagogy.

One of the novelties of the 2021 finance bill will be to oblige data centres to implement ambitious measures concerning their energy efficiency and heat recovery if they want to benefit from a reduced rate on their consumption.

The principle of eco-design must also be generalised. To this end, Ademe will be launching two calls for projects with companies. The companies will thus receive a bonus or a penalty depending on whether or not they take eco-design into account. They will also be encouraged to sign the Responsible Digital Charter which includes a set of good practices for a more responsible digital world.

The Planet Tech Care initiative has also been launched to put digital companies and training courses in touch with experts to help them reduce their environmental footprint free of charge.

Finally, the government wants to believe that digital and innovation can become tools for the environment. It plans to strengthen the GreenTech Innovation scheme, which will be endowed with a €300 million fund managed by the public investment bank Bpifrance to promote and finance green start-ups.

Certain avenues will now be debated and new measures are expected by the end of the year.
